PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jorge Vega is an experienced technology leader, educator, and IT professional with extensive experience in Linux systems administration, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data center operations, and enterprise infrastructure. He brings real-world technical and leadership experience into the classroom, helping students connect foundational concepts with the challenges they will encounter in modern IT environments.
As an adjunct professor, Jorge has taught courses in Linux, networking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and information technology. His teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning, practical problem-solving, and developing the technical confidence students need to succeed in the workplace.
Throughout his professional career, Jorge has held technical and leadership roles supporting complex, mission-critical environments at organizations including Microsoft, Oracle, and Chainalysis. His experience includes leading technical teams, managing critical infrastructure, implementing secure systems, troubleshooting complex operational issues, and working with cloud and data center technologies.
Jorge is also committed to continuous professional development and holds industry certifications in cloud and networking technologies, including the AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification.
His goal as an instructor is simple: help students understand not only how technology works, but how to apply that knowledge to solve real-world problems and build successful careers in technology.
