Dr. Jackie Jakes is a cybersecurity executive, educator, workforce development leader, and retired U.S. Navy Cyber Warrant Officer with 26 years of military service and extensive experience across cybersecurity, risk management, governance, compliance, cloud security, and technical education.
His career includes cybersecurity and technology leadership experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Justice, Microsoft, and higher education. His expertise includes Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), NIST SP 800-171, Risk Management Framework (RMF), security assessment and authorization, cybersecurity governance, vulnerability management, security operations, cloud security, and federal cybersecurity compliance.
Dr. Jakes also brings extensive experience as a cybersecurity educator, teaching and developing professionals in areas including risk management, ethical hacking, penetration testing, cloud security, digital forensics, cybersecurity governance, and information security. His instructional approach combines certification preparation with practical, real-world application.
As Chief Operating Officer of Jakes Technical Solutions (JTS), Dr. Jakes provides strategic leadership for the organization’s cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, professional training, certification, and workforce development initiatives. His focus is on bridging the gap between education, industry-recognized credentials, practical skills, and employability.
Dr. Jakes holds a Doctorate in Business, a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. His professional credentials span cybersecurity leadership, governance, risk management, project management, offensive security, CMMC, and cyber threat intelligence.
